2024 – 2025 STATE OFFICERS
President: Manya Khatri

https://www.nysfbla.org/leadership/your-state-officers/state-president/
Hello New York State FBLA,
It feels good to be back!! My name is Manya Khatri, and I am officially serving as your state president this school year. I am a rising senior at Commack High School on Long Island, and I already know we are going to have such a successful year!
A little bit about me is that I’ve been a member of FBLA since freshman year– and it was single handedly one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Not only have I competed and placed at our annual State Leadership Conference and National Leadership Conference for the past 3 years, but I’ve also gotten the opportunity to become chapter president and run for state office last year. I have experience as a state officer serving as your District 1S Vice President last term and couldn’t wait to kick off the year as State President!
FBLA has given me much more than just resume-builders– but also the opportunity to network, develop my soft skills and be a part of an organization that serves hundreds of thousands of members. The memories I’ve made meeting some of my best friends for life in FBLA were truly surreal, and I am looking forward to all the new experiences this year. I’ve also been blessed enough to meet some impressive, exceptional people who I still look up to as role models and for guidance till now! FBLA has also progressively made me a more ambitious and driven person by opening my mindset to all the possibilities and heights I could accomplish and has pushed me to grow my mindset and skill sets.
Therefore, I have many goals and ideas in mind to implement through the next year. Firstly, I seek to “rebrand” and grow the NYS FBLA Instagram account. I look to use this as a platform to keep members engaged throughout the entire year (not just during competition seasons) by producing more creative, sophisticated content. I also look to help develop new FBLA high school and middle school chapters within NYC and upstate by fundraising for them (and giving grants), guiding them and aiding the process of forming a chapter as well as helping members in those areas become more involved.
Some personal goals include growing my personal FBLA account to be able to network more with my members within the state (give me a follow: @manyafbla!) Also, I want to be there for the rest of my state office team and really be a backbone within their lives. As someone who’s faced my fair share of personal and professional challenges, I believe in leading by making sure my people are doing well and comfortable before expecting them to contribute.
It’s going to be an awesome year for NYS FBLA, and I can’t wait to get working. Please reach out to me at president@nysfbla.org with any questions or concerns.
Executive Vice President: Angela Lala
evp@nysfbla.org
https://www.nysfbla.org/leadership/your-state-officers/executive-vice-president/
Hello again New York State FBLA!! My name is Angela Lala and I am proud to be serving as your 2024-2025 Executive Vice President. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to come back and serve this organization for a second term, and watch NYS FBLA grow even further. I am a rising senior at Lakeland High School and a member of District 3S. Outside of FBLA I’m part of my school’s student government and planning committee, volunteer at my local library, and have been in dance for over 12 years now. My favorite color is currently pink, my favorite tv show is The Boys, and my favorite singer (same as last year) is still Lana Del Rey.
I started out in FBLA as a skeptical freshman who was intimidated by all the random acronyms and challenges that seemed to come with the club, but through all the meetings, conferences, and events I attended for FBLA, I grew to like the club. This admiration of the organization led me to run for and eventually win Parliamentarian, and after a rewarding year of work and memories with my state officer team, I found myself vying to run yet again. Being a state officer has given me many close-knit bonds, valuable lessons, and great memories. All the workshops, reports, and speeches I gave while in the State Officer blazer were all experiences I wouldn’t trade for anything, and I am excited to do more for the State Officer team and NYS FBLA in my second term. One of my main goals as the EVP of New York is researching and bringing more community service opportunities to chapters across the state. By researching opportunities within our state charity and staying in contact with chapters across our state I believe I can encourage a passion for helping others from members. Another aspect I really want to focus on during my term is keeping members from across NY connected using resources like GroupMe, Google Classroom, and more. A huge part of FBLA is creating bonds with a variety of intelligent peers, and emphasizing this will bring us closer together as a state. I can’t wait to work with my state officer team this year and I’m looking forward to meeting even more members! Please email me with any questions or just to say hi, at evp@nysfbla.org!!
State Vice President District 1N: Lochitha Thambeliyagoda
svp1n@nysfbla.org
https://www.nysfbla.org/district/district-1n/
Greetings, NYS FBLA! My name is Lochitha Thambeliyagoda, and I am a rising senior at H. Frank Carey High School in Garden City South, Long Island. I am ecstatic to serve as your State Vice President for District 1N for the 2024-2025 school year.
I remember my first FBLA meeting, an organization I joined out of curiosity. Despite my passion for engineering, math, and science, business never really interested me. However, during my freshman year, I decided to explore new paths, and I’m incredibly grateful that I did.
I’ve been part of our chapter’s FBLA for the past three years, steadily climbing the leadership ranks. I started as a Publicity Coordinator, then moved on to Secretary, Vice President. I am now excited to serve as my chapter’s President as well as the SVP for District 1N. During my time with FBLA, we’ve hosted numerous fundraising events, networking activities, and various initiatives that have significantly contributed to our chapter and community. Additionally, I’ve competed and placed at the SLC and SDM for the past three years in various events. This organization has been instrumental in helping me build essential skills such as public speaking, leadership, networking, and socializing. I don’t think I’d be the person I am today without these experiences or the positions I’ve held. My goal is to have the same positive impact on others that FBLA has had on me.
In addition to my position responsibilities, I have set several goals. One of my main objectives is to establish and rejuvenate FBLA chapters in various schools, including at the middle school level. To achieve this, I plan to reach out to potential advisors within my district and actively promote FBLA. Another goal is to increase student participation in competitions, particularly at the State and National levels. I aim to do this by demonstrating the benefits of competing in FBLA events. Lastly, I intend to enhance fundraising efforts to offset the costs of events such as SLC, support those in need, and contribute to the program’s growth.
Outside of school, I am involved in various activities. At my school, I founded and coached our junior high robotics team, and we have competed and placed at the regional level. I am also an active member of our local Boy Scout troop, where I hold leadership roles. In addition, I serve as our district vice president and regional treasurer for SkillsUSA. I intern with the Metropolitan Golf Association, gaining valuable experience. Finally, I am a scholar-athlete, participating in varsity football, wrestling, and lacrosse while maintaining high averages and a rigorous courseload.
I look forward to working with the State Officer Team to provide the best possible FBLA experience for everyone. It is a privilege to work with all of you, and I am confident that together, we will make this year a great success.
State Vice President District 1S: Akarsh Chilakala
svp1s@nysfbla.org
https://www.nysfbla.org/district/district-1s/
Hello New York State FBLA! My name is Akarsh Chilakala, and I am super excited to serve as your State Vice President for District 1S for the 2024-2025 school year! I am currently a rising senior at Commack High School on Long Island.
I’ve been an active member of my chapter of FBLA for three years, working my way up from Historian to Treasurer and now, State Vice President of District 1S. This process has taught me so many valuable life skills, and I’ve made great friends and unforgettable memories. Over the past few years, I was able to attend the State Leadership Conference (SLC) multiple times. These experiences allowed me to compete in and win events such as Business Ethics, and Intro to FBLA. At these competitions, I’ve improved my public speaking skills, learned more about the business world, and connected with amazing people from all over the state. Most importantly, I’ve had a ton of fun and can’t wait to help organize and participate in these events again!
Besides my involvement in FBLA, I am currently President of my high school’s Science Honor Society and Science Olympiad team, and I’m an active member of the Varsity Math Team. I’m also passionate about community service through the Leo Club and Mananbadi Telugu School. These roles have helped me grow as a leader and deepened my responsibilities. As your State Vice President, I have a few key goals. Firstly, I want to increase membership so more students can benefit from FBLA, the way I was able to. Secondly, I want to boost community involvement within our district. Finally, I want this to be one of the best years at NYS FBLA, that you will attend.
I’m excited for the year ahead and look forward to helping NYS FBLA have another successful and impactful year. Let’s make this year amazing together! If you have any questions or concerns, please email me at svp1s@nysfbla.org.
State Vice President District 3S: Chloe Blaufeux
svp3s@nysfbla.org
https://www.nysfbla.org/district/district-3s/
Hello NYS FBLA. My name is Chloe Blaufeux and I am thrilled to serve as the 2024-2025 New York State FBLA State Vice President for District 3S. I am a senior from Mamaroneck High School and FBLA has been a transformative part of my high school journey since I joined during my freshman year.
From my first meeting, FBLA has continually inspired me with its diverse opportunities and the incredible community it fosters. Over the years, I have participated in numerous conferences including the State Leadership Conference (SLC) and the National Leadership Conference (NLC), which have equipped me with vital skills in public speaking, business communication, and leadership.
This year my focus as State Vice President is to enhance our Spring and Fall District Meetings by introducing dynamic and engaging elements. I want to continue to bring in real-world, prominent, and experienced business leaders to speak at our meetings and inspire us as prospective business leaders.
Promoting equity within NYS FBLA is another key priority for me. I believe every chapter can make a significant impact within their communities. Therefore, I will work diligently to support individual chapters in initiating their own community service projects, providing a platform for members to develop their business and leadership skills while making a positive difference.
Outside of FBLA, I love playing sports and participating in and leading various clubs at my high school. I’m on the varsity tennis and lacrosse while also leading clubs like the marketing club, mock trial, and more. These activities have taught me important lessons in discipline, creativity, and perseverance, which I bring to my role in FBLA.
I am honored to have been elected to this position and am filled with gratitude and enthusiasm for the year ahead. I look forward to collaborating with all of you to make this a remarkable year for District 3S.
If you have any questions or ideas, please feel free to reach out to me at svp3s@nysfbla.org. Thank you and let’s make this year unforgettable!
State Vice President District 4: Ava Jump
svp4@nysfbla.org
https://www.nysfbla.org/district/district-4/
Hello District 4! My name is Ava Jump, and I will be a junior at Sharon Springs Central School this year. I am so thankful for this opportunity and I’m looking forward to a successful year in FBLA.
I started FBLA as a freshman and in my first year I was able to experience District meetings, the SLC, and the NLC. Then, as a sophomore, I attended the same conferences and the NFLC in Providence, Rhode Island. I hope to build new connections with all of you and promote support throughout District 4. If there is anything FBLA has taught me, it is that the connections you make with others are some of the most valuable resources in life. They introduce friendship and support in places you never thought you would find it with like-minded people.
Now I’d like to tell you a little about myself. I moved up to varsity soccer in 8th grade as their starting goalkeeper. I believe that has really shaped me as a person. I made friends with the older girls on my team and because of that I understood how to be on a team and become a leader of one. Then that year I decided to play softball and I loved it. I continued to play those two sports until this past year, as a sophomore, I decided to join the basketball team. Although I am new to most of them, these sports have influenced me to become a better leader and teammate. I hope to transfer those skills to FBLA.
As your State District 4 VP I hope to unite us with activities that include all chapters and build our membership by both creating new chapters and growing existing ones. I am beyond excited to lead our district to success within FBLA and bring communication and teamwork into District 4 and beyond. As one of the smaller districts in NY state, I hope that we can increase our presence and impact in FBLA at both the SLC and NLC.
Again, thank you for this opportunity and let’s work together toward a successful year in FBLA!
State Vice President District 7: Rebecca Hauser
svp7@nysfbla.org
https://www.nysfbla.org/district/district-7/
Hello NYS FBLA! My name is Rebecca Hauser, and I am so excited to say I will be serving as your 2024-2025 District 7 SVP! This fall I will be a junior at Little Falls High School, and I am beyond grateful to have been given the opportunity to be a part of the amazing organization that is FBLA.
I can easily say joining FBLA my freshman year was one of the best decisions I’ve made. While participating in FBLA has helped me acquire valuable business and real-life skills, it has also given me the opportunity to form many lifelong friendships with remarkable individuals from across New York State. From competing in competitions to attending workshops, FBLA has truly broadened my horizons in ways I didn’t think possible whether it be finding new and innovative ways to solve business problems or having fun while collaborating with peers on exciting and engaging projects.
My biggest supporters while I ran for state office would have to be my advisor, family, and peers who encouraged me to pursue my love for business that I found in FBLA. While running for state office I knew I needed to keep my goals, values and passion for business in the front of my mind. One of my main goals is to encourage more schools to open an FBLA chapter at their school to increase membership as even in my area there are many schools with no active chapter. I hope to increase District 7’s presence at SLC and over all the interaction between all the chapters of District 7. I aim to inspire individuals not only to join FBLA but also to explore diverse business fields. Additionally, I strive to assist them in enriching their knowledge of business through different opportunities like internships/jobs, and workshops. As an SVP I am beyond excited to run the Fall and Spring District Meetings along with hosting amazing workshops and meeting all the excellent individuals of District 7.
Outside of FBLA, I am a part of various other activities in and outside of school. In school I have run track for the past two years and plan to continue throughout the rest of high school. My favorite events are the 800m and 4×800 because I love running with my friends and individually. I am also a part of NJHS and have been President of my class for the past three years. Outside of school I have been a part of a competition dance team for 5 years and have been a part of dance for 12. My favorite style of dance would be contemporary and what I love about dance is the deep bond I have with all my teammates.
I am so excited to work with the state officer team to achieve our many goals for the upcoming year. I also look forward to meeting FBLA members from all over NYS, and we can make it a great year for FBLA.
State Vice President District 9: Summer Trevino
svp9@nysfbla.org
https://www.nysfbla.org/district/district-9/
Hello, New York State FBLA! My name is Summer Trevino, and I will be serving as your District 9 State Vice President. This upcoming fall, I will be a senior at G. Ray Bodley High School in Fulton. I am honored to be a representative of District 9 and NYS as a State Officer this year, and I am determined to make it a great one!
I joined FBLA almost three years ago, serving as Chapter President my junior year. Coming into this organization as a lost sophomore curious about a little business club in my small town, I never would have expected I would get to this point. FBLA has truly been monumental in helping me grow into being a professional, social, and inspired leader. The organization has shown me that everyone has the potential to be great if they have the determination. Not only has NYS FBLA created a more professional environment for me, but it has also created a family I can count on.
When I am not participating in FBLA endeavors, I am always creating. I am an avid art, music, and literature enjoyer and strive to become a high school English teacher in the future. I have been a part of my school’s Orchestra for almost 8 years as well as attending several music competitions and festivals per year. In my free time, I am either listening to music, taking photos, or working on a spontaneous creative project. I enjoy bringing my creativeness to the work I put into FBLA.
In the upcoming year as SVP, I want to focus on connection. FBLA is so much more than just learning about business, it is an opportunity to grow into who you are and network with others from all over the state and even the country. What FBLA has to offer is exciting and inspiring, and proving that to others is crucial to increase engagement in competitions, workshops, etc. I strive to highlight the creative and social aspects of FBLA with personally networking with my district and others, creating engaging activities and media, and recognizing the opportunities and experiences FBLA has for everyone. Inclusion is key, and I am determined to shine a light on how FBLA can improve the lives of everyone, no matter who you are or where you come from.
I am ecstatic to work with my fellow officers and all of you to grow NYS FBLA in size and in passion. With open arms, please feel free to connect with me for anything about FBLA at svp9@nysfbla.org.
State Vice President District 12: Monal Gupta
svp12@nysfbla.org
https://www.nysfbla.org/district/district-12/
Hello, New York State FBLA! My name is Monal Gupta, and I’m honored to serve as the District 12 State Vice President for the 2024-2025 school year. I’m a rising senior at Williamsville East High School, and I’ve been involved in FBLA for the past three years.
I first joined FBLA as a freshman, the year right after COVID, being very confused and clueless as to what FBLA entailed. However, since then, I’ve found every opportunity to get myself involved through serving as chapter secretary, mandatory voting delegate, FBLA National Honor Society member, and a Nationals qualifier. At every State Leadership Conference, I’ve competed in any event that I can, placing in Introduction to Business Concepts, Website Design, Data Analysis, and International Business. Throughout these years, FBLA has shaped me to be the leader I am today, and it has opened my eyes to the potential it has to change so many individuals. Being in FBLA has exposed me to some of the best experiences that I’ve had in high school, and I’m so honored to be able to contribute on another level by being District 12 SVP.
For the upcoming year, I plan to increase communication and connection across chapters in our district as well as with other districts across New York. This will be achieved through increasing our presence and followers on our district’s social media, making a district website, and continuing the creation of district newsletters. I also plan to have more interactive informational workshops at the District 12 meetings to increase membership as much as possible and to increase our district’s representation at SLC and NLC. For the Fall District Meeting, I plan for our district to collaborate with a local influential private company that’s headquartered in Buffalo in which students can tour and learn about entrepreneurship firsthand.
Beyond FBLA, I am heavily involved in other passions and extra-curriculars. In school, I’m a Mock Trial captain, Science Olympiad A-team competitor, and principal oboe player in my school’s Wind Ensemble. Additionally, I have a strong passion for medicine and research. From fundraising for cancer research and treatment to interning at research centers, I enjoy exploring different interests and aspects in healthcare which allow me to contribute on a higher level. Furthermore, I founded my school’s medical outreach program to expose students to different aspects of healthcare through interviewing guest speakers, publishing science news articles, and collaborating on a mental health podcast.
I can’t wait to serve as your 2024-2025 NYS FBLA State Vice President for District 12! I’m looking forward to working with the State Officer team to make this year an amazing experience for all of you! If you need to reach out to me, please contact me at svp12@nysfbla.org.
Secretary: Yasmin Issa
secretary@nysfbla.org
https://www.nysfbla.org/leadership/your-state-officers/state-secretary/
Hello! My name is Yasmin Issa, and I am honored to serve as Secretary of the 2024-2025 NYS FBLA State Officer Team. Reflecting on the past few years as a rising junior at Sharon Springs Central School, joining FBLA has been a life changing experience for me, and I’m so grateful for the world of opportunities it has opened.
I first joined FBLA as a freshman in high school, and after attending my first FDM, I learned that by exemplifying the ideals of FBLA, passion, dedication and perseverance, I could ensure success within my future endeavors. From then on, I worked hard as a member of my local chapter, fundraising for conferences and participating in community service events. When the time came for the SDM, I felt reassured by my hard work and determination, which allowed me to qualify to compete at the SLC. Attending the SLC proved to be a defining experience, demonstrating the widespread impact FBLA had upon the next generation of business leaders. I felt most inspired by the State Officers, as they served as role models for their fellow peers, their passion and dedication a testament to the pinnacles of true leadership. Through my experiences at both district, state and national conferences, I cultivated the confidence within myself to become a leader and run for state office.
As State Secretary, my first goal is to support NYS FBLA members competing at the NLC, by helping members access a variety of practice tests and facilitate environments in which they could effectively prepare for their performance events. NYS FBLA is composed of many talented individuals, and through my efforts as Secretary, I will ensure that members of the state association receive more recognition at the national level. Secondly, I would like to establish a program called Ask Yasmin, in which members could reach out to me via email regarding questions about conferences and competitions. Through this program, I hope to make the State Officer Team more accessible, enabling NYS FBLA members to use a professional means of communication to explore business related opportunities and create networking skills to facilitate further collaboration.
Outside of FBLA, I am an active member in a variety of extracurriculars, including Student Council, Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD), High School Band, Spanish Club, Math Honor Society, Girls Varsity Soccer, Youth as Leaders and Elevating Student Voices. Through participating in these activities, I have learned meaningful skills, such as how to lead a group project, coordinate/plan events and communicate well with others. Beyond my extracurriculars, I strive to give back to my community through volunteerism, by participating in blood drives, community cleanups and clothing donations. In my spare time, I love to read, run, play soccer, practice piano, travel and hang out with friends.
As NYS FBLA embarks upon the 2024-2025 school year, I am honored to serve as State Secretary and look forward to collaborating with the other State Officers for a year of success. Joining FBLA has been a decision that has changed my life, and through my endeavors as a State Officer, I hope to make FBLA a meaningful experience for others as well. If you have any questions, please reach out at secretary@nysfbla.org.
Treasurer: Alexandra Robinson
treasurer@nysfbla.org
https://www.nysfbla.org/leadership/your-state-officers/state-treasurer/
Greetings New York State FBLA! My name is Alexandra Robinson, and I am currently a rising junior at Mamaroneck High School. I am beyond honored and excited to be serving as your State Treasurer for the 2024-2025 year.
I have been a part of FBLA since my freshman year. Throughout my time as a member, this organization has played a significant role in my high school career. FBLA has provided me with some of the most important and impactful experiences, such as relationships with other students and teachers, education, and overall memories. Being a member of this community has allowed me to realize how incredible this organization is and how important it is to me and so many other students. Therefore, it is only right for me to give back to all of you.
Being an avid member of various other clubs within my school has given me the qualities and experience to efficiently fundraise and manage finances. My passion for this organization has led me to hold many goals I am determined to accomplish, whether it is to host effective fundraisers or assist chapters in holding their own fundraisers and managing their budgets and finances. Most importantly, I desire to help and assist all members to encourage successful money management throughout the year and beyond. As a state, my overarching goal is to enhance membership, maintain active engagement and information sharing through social media, and ensure that members are prepared for college and career opportunities!
Aside from FBLA, I am part of the student council, serving as my class president for two consecutive years. This upcoming year, I am serving as my class executive vice president, specializing in being the treasurer. Additionally, I play various sports within my school, such as soccer and ski racing. I am a passionate member of my school’s orchestra, playing the viola. Being born in London, England, and moving to America at five, I quickly adapted to the lifestyle and fell in love with the school system. Being a member of this club but also being involved in various other sports and clubs has allowed me to realize my lasting passion for FBLA. A few of my hobbies include listening to Zach Bryan, hanging out with my friends, and going on walks.
I am looking forward to having a great upcoming year! With all the NYS members working together, I know we can create the best state in FBLA! Reporter: Kayleigh Harney
reporter@nysfbla.org
https://www.nysfbla.org/leadership/your-state-officers/state-reporter/
Hello New York State FBLA! My name is Kayleigh Harney, and I am honored to serve as your 2024-2025 State Reporter. I am a rising senior at Carmel High School, located in District 3N. My FBLA journey began during my sophomore year, where I became one of the countless individuals impacted by this influential organization. Throughout my junior year, my interest in business and passion for community service was cultivated by FBLA. Not only did I gain invaluable collaboration, communication, and leadership skills, but I also developed confidence and forged friendships that will last a lifetime.
I decided to become a State Officer after attending my district’s Fall District Meeting at Monroe Woodbury High School, where I had the opportunity to network with three members of the 2023-2024 State Officer team. Their enthusiasm and love for the organization resonated with me, and inspired me to pursue a State Officer position. I remember approaching my chapter advisor, Mrs. Mary Odell, and asking if I could run for State Reporter. Keeping with the nurturing and encouraging environment FBLA encompasses, she gave me her full support. Mrs. Odell assisted me in expanding my understanding of FBLA and its significance for future leaders as I worked toward becoming a NY State Officer. I am forever grateful for her for assisting me in expanding my outlook on FBLA’s potential and helping me develop the skills needed to be a State Officer. I am fully committed towards ensuring that the 2024-2025 FBLA year is productive, constructive, and positive for all NYS members!
My goals for this year are to increase the number of readers for the FBLA Express and make it more inclusive for all FBLA members. I am a firm believer in giving people the recognition they merit through their hard work and altruism. New York State FBLA members more than qualify for their amazing achievements and the profound influence they have on their communities. Thus, I will be sending out emails periodically asking for articles to include in each edition of our newsletter so that members can let New York know what their chapter has done to make a difference. So, keep an eye on your email because I want to hear your stories, your hopes, and your ambitions!
Outside of FBLA, I take part in many extracurriculars including 4H, Equity Club, Interact, Youth Court, Student Government, Spanish Club, Yearbook Club, Book Club, and I am a member of multiple Honor Societies. I also find joy in running, especially long-distance events for my Cross Country and Track team at my high school. I have three amazing little sisters (Claire, Fiona, and Isla), two selfless and endlessly supportive parents, three dogs (Sonny, Stella, and Stanley).
Looking forward to a fantastic year!
Historian: Jasmitha Keesara
historian@nysfbla.org
https://www.nysfbla.org/leadership/your-state-officers/state-historian/
Hello! My name is Jasmitha Keesara, and I am thrilled to introduce myself as your new FBLA State Historian. As a rising senior at Williamsville East High School, I am excited for this upcoming year and to share my passion for FBLA with you all. Outside of FBLA, I’m on my school’s varsity tennis, varsity indoor and outdoor track team. I also work as a receptionist at my local urgent care, am a member of various honor societies, and other school clubs including Model UN, Mock Trial, Yearbook, etc. I enjoy photography, reading, love going on runs, and hanging out with my friends. I also love listening to music. My favorite artists are Noah Kahan, Lana Del Ray, Arctic Monkeys, and Coldplay.
Since September 2021, when I first joined FBLA, I have had the privilege of participating in several roles that have helped me prepare for this one. I began as an active member and worked my way up to becoming the chapter historian/reporter, district reporter, and state historian. These opportunities have given me an immense appreciation for the value of documenting in keeping FBLA’s accomplishments and history preserved. My experience as a photographer (@keesaracreations on Instagram) and my positions as Head Photographer and Head Social Media Manager at The East Side Newspaper have given me a strong foundation in leadership, organization, and communication. This helps increase my ability to successfully record our FBLA history and connect with members throughout the state.
My primary goal for this year as State Historian is to record and commemorate the history of NYS FBLA. My goal is to create a detailed and interesting historical record that reflects the accomplishments and passion of our members.
At the end of each month, I plan to send out a template slideshow to each chapter that has details on where to add photographs and information to it. This allows chapters to more efficiently update what is going on at their chapter while reducing the stress of organizing. This makes it possible for every chapter to be represented through multimedia presentations that showcase the commitment and passion of its members. Additionally, it will aid in presenting FBLA events and activities, emphasizing our state’s accomplishments and efforts. In addition to offering templates, in order to guarantee equal representation and active engagement from all chapters, I will offer advice and tools to assist large and small chapters in documenting their own FBLA experiences.
I am excited to take on the role of your State Historian and am looking forward to working with all of you. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns at historian@nysfbla.org.

Hello Everyone in New York State FBLA! My name is Skye Fishman, and it is my honor to serve as your 2024-2025 State Parliamentarian. This Fall, I will be a Junior at Mamaroneck High School. I have been a member of FBLA since my 8th Grade year in Middle School. FBLA has had a profound impact on me throughout my time as a member. I have learned indispensable lessons from my experiences at SLC, NLC, SDM, and FDM (One such lesson being to be careful with your wallet in Atlanta) and have gained lifelong skills such as how to do a proper handshake.
Beyond FBLA, my interests include Sports and Black Bears. At Mamaroneck High School, I am a Varsity Fencer on the Foil Team, and have been Section 1 Champs 2 years and still going strong! Also, I am a diehard NY Islander fan and 50% of the time if you see me in the hallway I will be rocking Islander gear. I am also a Wildlife Technician where I am currently conducting a study of Black Bears occupancy in Southern New York.
This upcoming year, I am thrilled to be your State Parliamentarian. In this role, I hope to help NYS FBLA members dive into the world of Parliamentary Procedure via supplying easy-to-digest resources that will encourage curiosity and continue to promote the use of Parliamentary Procedure throughout the different levels of NYS FBLA. I am confident this upcoming year will be a notable one for NYS FBLA. Please feel free to contact me about anything (including any parli pro questions!) at parliamentarian@nysfbla.org.
